Why you should try Stonehenge CrossFit

We have been running for more than three years and are home to keep fitters and gym goers of all ages. We have members who are here to improve their health and well-being, use us to improve their strength and conditioning for other sports and activities and those who want to compete at CrossFit competitions. We have members of all ages and abilities and open our doors to everyone.

If you are looking for a change in what you are doing, if you feel you have either plateaued in your training or haven’t lifted weights, cycled or skipped before and want to start, drop up a message.

Common misconceptions

As a CrossFit coach we hear all sorts, including:

  • We want to get fit before we start.
  • It is intimidating.
  • It looks hardcore.
  • We will never be as good as (point to the best athletes in the box/world).
  • I don’t have what it takes.

The truth is, you can start today, tomorrow or the day after and you will be coached thoroughly on your journey. It is unlikely that ‘trying to get fit for CrossFit’ will actually prove enormously helpful when you start doing classes. What will help is if you stop putting it off and get started! Then you will begin a path of progression, improving your overall health and fitness while meeting some awesome people and making some great friends.

With regards to the intimidation, you just need to walk through the door to realise there is nothing to be intimidated about. We have a strong community of happy and healthy members who support one another in and out of the box.

What the CrossFit lifestyle can help you with

There are many benefits to starting at a CrossFit box. The obvious ones are that you will become healthier, fitter, stronger, faster, improve your stamina, flexibility, agility, co-ordination and balance.

But it can be used to assist in all areas of life. It has helped a lot of our members with their posture, members who spend all day either behind a steering wheel or behind a desk.

It has helped people make healthy choices with their food and nutrition, wanting to become healthier to perform better. It has also helped members with the quality of life they lead, assisting previously inactive parents play with their children for longer.

Who can CrossFit?

Anyone can CrossFit, whether you are nine-years-old or ninety. We have members from four through to seventy, through our CrossFit, CrossFit Kids and Strength Academy classes. All workouts and exercises are scalable to your ability, so you can work hard, have fun and progress at the same time.

Who is it for?

Are you bored of the same old gym machines? Are you frustrated with not seeing results? Are you tired of the same playlist on your headphones in a gym where eye contact is awkward? Have you lost your passion for training? Are you keen to try something new? Do you want to do something different each day? Do you want to work out alongside friends, or meet new people?

If the answer is yes to any of the above, then it is worth trying out. Anyone is welcome to come by our facility and talk to the coaches, and everyone is also entitled to a free taster session, so you can see how we coach, meet some of our members and see how a typical CrossFit session is run, managed and coached.
